Poison Ivy?

Are there any good home remedies? My boyfriend had a really bad reaction and the itching is terrible. Thanks.

Poison Ivy?
I had this problem earlier this spring and did some research because I was so miserable. I put vix vapor rub ( crazy I know) on the spots and it seriously stopped the itch. I also read about pouring household bleach on the area (I was not brave enough to do it myself) bleach is suppose to dry it up within a few days.
Reply:My husband tought me to take EPSON salt.. rub it (hard)on the places you have the rash.. so it breaks the blisters open..

yes it hurts.. but it works.. it goes away right after..
Reply:The only home remedy that may help would be a bath with baking soda dissolved in lukewarm water.

For any real relief, you probably will need to buy Calamine lotion, and, even better, an over the counter cortisone cream. Also, an over the counter antihistamine may help.

If the itching is really awful, it's probably worthwhile seeing a doctor. A doctor can probably prescribe a better topical treatment to reduce the itching.

Good luck!
