Poison Ivy Length of spreading?

I got Poison Ivy 7 days ago and was pulling weeds and I must have pulled a poison Ivy. I Thought it was a spider bite the next morning and thought nothing of it. I didn't know it was poison ivy til 2 days later. I came right home from mowing and pulling weeds and took a hot shower. I know this is bad. It has spread to parts of my front. Chest Waist Arms. Just little pimple looking spots all over. I know they arent pimples cause they have JUST come up. Will it continue to spread or is it finished?

Poison Ivy Length of spreading?
Please try not to scratch the best you can.....some people are more prone to have worst reactions than others.....people say calomine lotion....some go for OTC drugs.....I've been through all of that trying to rid the outbreak. I treated it myself for 9 days....to no effect I went to the Dr. and got benedryl shots....it started to ease off several hours later....about a year later the same thing....this time I took some advice from the internet....the key is to dry up the area of concern....simply keep cleaning the area with rubbing alcohol...mine had almost dried up on the 3rd day after outbreak.....this really works....I know how miserable it makes you feel....the small pimple like areas contain oils....so don't scratch.....after 9 days it may soothe with alcohol but if you are covered with it and it's an emergency....go to get shots immediately so start rubbing with alcohol asap for relief....I hope you waste no time....it feels so very soothing.....
Reply:it can spread a little

the rash is caused from the oils of the poison ivy.

calamine lotion will help with the itching and will also help in stopping the spread
Reply:Ok, forget calamine lotion...it doesnt work. Personally I get it so bad that nothing but IV steroids get rid of it If I let it go more than a few days....Use NETNU....small bottle, use all over your body and can also wash your clothes in it, or sheets etc. The oil from the plant can last up to a year on say....handles of tools, clothes, door handles....anything it gets on.
