Poison Ivy HELL!?

I was deathly allergic to poison oak/ivy when i was a child. then for a good 10 years i never got it. My doctor said that because i had it soo soo much as a child, that it was like i built up an immunity towards it. Well, 10 years later, here i am with a huge patch of itchy poison ivy on my arm!

As a child, i would have to get steroid shots constantly for this stuff. Hopefully i wont have to do that now that im older. I think i can prevent it from getting in my eyes and stuff.

I would like to know if anybody has any home remedies... Im using that Tunsu stuff.. however its spelled... and ive got calagel on it constantly.. Anything else?

Poison Ivy HELL!?
When I used to catch it, it was right to the doctor's office and get a cortisone shot. It's 50% gone in a couple of hours. It's worth it.
Reply:I'd suggest using Calamine Lotion. This is the stuff I would use.

What you are doing is trying to keep the oil from the ivy from spreading and keeping any blisters from opening.

Basically, just keep the area(s) clean and wash, well, any clothing or bedding that came in contact before you realized you had come in contact with the poison ivy.

Hope this helped!

Good Luck!:)
Reply:Bakeing soda is an old time help, but it barely does anything. If you get it cleared up check out a product called" Immuno ivy".Its an extract that gave me immuneity to the stuff(taken before summer season starts). I think someone still makes it,but it must be taken before exposure...
Reply:Well the main goal is drying it out I believe. So anything that is not toxic to you that you can apply to dry it out would be my suggestion. I would go to a search engine and type in Poison Ivey Home Remedies and see what you find. This will sound bad but when i got it really bad as a kid, my mom washed much of it with lysol (and then of course washed that off). It seems to work like a charm really but I wouldnt advise using such a crazy home remedy like that (i joke with her about that all the time)..
