Ok poison ivy oak and sumac which cured me the most???
From what I understand, washing the area immediately is the best thing you can do when you are exposed to poison ivy and poison oak. Therefore, that's likely what limited the severity of your reaction. You washed off the offending irritant. Good quick thinking!
Reply:I have never heard of anybody using dawn,anti-perspirant or a hair dryer before. My sister is very allergic to poison ivy and she washes the infected area too with plain ole soap. Then she uses vicks vapo rub and says that clears it up real fast with no itching. I would think her way is less painful.
Reply:Not sure which worked, or if it would work on someone else. But hey if it works keep with it. Sure beats the heck out of the oatmeal baths and calmine lotion.
