I got a pretty bad case of poison ivy recently so i went to my doctor and he gave me a shot and some presciption medicine along with some sort of cream. The affected areas include my legs and arms with my left ankle and right arm being quite swollen. I was planning on goin to the beach with some friends tomorrow but i wasn't sure if this would have a negative impact on my condition. any thoughts?

Salt water is good for all types of skin conditions because it dries out the lesions and cleanses any open sores of bacteria.
Reply:The salt water in the ocean willl help to dry up your poison ivy faster.......go and have fun.
Reply:Poison Ivy is cuased by the oil making an allergic reaction. If anything salt water will lift these oils from your skin. Just be sure to reapply your cream when you get home.
